- Drafting:
Draft the gift deed in word file, the draft looks like below image
Print the draft on document paper.
- Appointment & Government fee: Submit an applicant in sub-registration for registration of Gift Deed + pay the government fee + Book an appointment
The following are documents required to submit an application
- Gift Deed draft
- Husband’s registered deed
- Latest tax-paid receipt
- eKhata
- Aadhaar (husband, wife & two witnesses)
The following government fee in Karnataka
- Stamp Duty: Rs. 5000
- Registration fee: Rs. 1000
- Scanning fee: Rs. 35 per page
3. Registration:
As per the registration slot, carry the following documents to sub-registrar office for gift deed registration
- Application summary report
- Gift Deed (to be registered)
- Aadhaar (husband & wife)
- Government fee payment receipt
Husband, wife and two witnesses sign the gift deed. Submit the above listed documents in registration counter.
Husband, wife and two witnesses are asked to sit at the registration counter for thumb impression, photo and OTP authentication. The registered gift deed looks like below image
This completes the procedure to gift a property to wife.
Note:
- If husband solely owns the property, husband can gift property to wife
- If the property is jointly owned by husband and wife, husband can release his share to wife by executing release deed.
