How do I update missing street name in BBMP property tax payment?

“Payment is refrained due to missing Street Name. Kindly contact concerned ARO for further details.”

Referring to the above image, I received this error when I tried to pay my BBMP property tax for the year 2022–23

The reason for the above error is zonal freezing where the wards and streets had to be mapped. This issue might be coming up for streets between two zones. In such cases, BBMP might physically verify and update your property tax record.

I followed below steps to update the missing street name:

Step 1: Wrote a letter to Area Revenue officer (ARO) to update the street name. Refer to below image

Step 2: Submitted the following documents in BBMP office.

(My BBMP ward office is Shettyhalli -12 so I submitted below documents in BBMP Shettyhalli)

  • Request Letter to ARO (Refer to the image in step 1)
  • Khata
  • Previous tax-paid receipt

Received the below acknowledgment from BBMP. Refer to below image

Step 3: In 15 working days, we received a call from BBMP staff, informing us that street name is updated.

We paid our property tax without any issue and no error message appeared again,

Note: No fee or money is involved to update the street name
